In recognition of April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the “Child Abuse Prevention Award” is given annually by the Steuben County Task Force for the Prevention of Child Abuse and the Steuben County Youth Bureau to an individual, program, or agency who has, "contributed to the prevention of child abuse in Steuben County." The award is presented annually by the Steuben County Legislature at the regular April session of the Legislature.
Nominations for “Child Abuse Prevention Award” are sought from the public early in each year, including from human service agencies, other organizations, and community individuals. All nominations are reviewed, and the recipient is selected by the Task Force.
The annual nomination deadline is April 1.
Any questions about the recognition nomination, or about materials and ideas for any of the other prevention activities, can be directed to the Steuben County Youth Bureau.
