Established in 2013, the “Champion for Youth” Award will be presented annually by the Steuben County Youth Board to recognize one individual who has done an outstanding job of supporting youth programs in Steuben County.
In contrast to the “Service Worker of the Year” Award, the “Champion for Youth” Award will celebrate an individual who works “behind the scenes” to positively impact the lives of a large number of youth in the county. Community leaders, program administrators, public officials, key board members, or anyone else who has positively impacted youth development programming would be appropriate for this award.
The “Champion for Youth” Award will be presented at the Youth Board’s Annual Dinner, generally targeting late January. A call for nominations will be announced in the prior Fall season, and nominations may be received from any community member, with the exception of family members of the nominee. The deadline for nominations will target November 30th, but may be adjusted each year.
For additional information about this award, or the nomination process, contact the Steuben County Youth Bureau.
