Adult Services

Composed of different programs designed to serve and protect a diverse adult population, 18 years of age or older, either physically or mentally disabled or believed to be at risk or in immediate danger or harm. Referrals are received from community members, family and outside agencies. A caseworker will assess the situation within 3 days and immediate action may be taken to implement any needed services to the individual.

Adult Services may make referrals to services in the community, or within the agency to facilitate housing, secure benefits, locate appropriate care facilities, or to manage finances. Staff can provide representative payee services when needed.

If additional services are deemed necessary, the case may be opened for ongoing protective services. Additionally, Adult Protective Services (APS) administers the Care at Home Program, a Medicaid Waiver program for disabled children under the age of 18.
